Online Advertising Options

In this electronic age where communications is continually
evolving and transforming our lives, there can be little
doubt that online advertising has literally become essential
to the survival and growth of most businesses. The days of
print media and conventional direct mail campaigns are
numbered at best. The sheer reach of the Internet into
markets and the vast number of potential customers makes
online advertising a true no-brainer. The versatility of
this medium allows for a number of advertising options to
suit the needs of almost any business. Here are some of the
options available to online advertisers:

Ezine advertising is considered to be one of the most cost
effective ways of marketing on the Internet. Ezines are
electronic magazines that people subscribe to and can
download at their leisure. You can still target your
audience as with traditional magazines, but ezines also
allow you to track your audience as well. You can study
how effective your ad is along with how useful the
publication is in drawing customers to your business.
Traditional printed magazines cannot come close to
providing the useful information you need to create the
most effective ads. Dollar for dollar, ezines are a very
effective form of online advertising.

Banner ads are not as widely used as they were when online
advertising was first launched. Although there are more
dynamic types of online advertising available today, banner
ads can still draw in customers to your site. On average,
banner ads have a response rate (not to be confused with
conversion rate), of between 1 and 3 percent.

Another type of online advertising that is proving popular
is the 'pay-per-click' programs. These programs let you
target particular audiences but you only pay for those
people who actually visit your site. In addition to search
engine pay-per-click programs, pay-per-lead and pay-per-sale
programs are also included as part of the package. In
effect, you're paying for positive outcomes and this makes
pay-per-click programs much more cost effective than
conventional advertising.

Online advertising has evolved as fast as the Internet and
will continue to evolve and become more efficient in the
future. Even though the banner ads are no longer as popular,
but they are still a useful tool. Ezine advertising has
already overtaken traditional magazine advertising. And, the
pay-per-click programs have proven beyond doubt that
Internet marketing will continue to advance. All businesses,
whether big or small, will profit from these effective means
of reaching a range of customers unprecedented in history.
