Opt-In Marketing

With the world of marketing growing and expanding every
year, there are new techniques and plans being created. So
what is opt-in marketing and what are the benefits of it?
Well, opt-in marketing is basically the opposite of direct
mail marketing. It is taking a twist on unsolicited
advertising.
A lot of marketing is simply money down the drain. People
are not necessarily interested in your product and will
simply throw your material away. With welcome marketing the
individual has actually signed up to receive your
information. What better way to make sure that your
audience is truly receptive?
By narrowing down your target audience in this way, you can
reduce the amount of wasted time and effort that goes into
unsolicited marketing.
The benefits don't stop there! When customers sign up to
receive information, you can ask them what they would like
to hear about. This way you can be sure that you are giving
the right information to the right people.
By targeting people in this way, you can make sure that
the correct people are being contacted. There is nothing
worse than receiving junk mail that is totally
inappropriate to you and your lifestyle. Not only is this
annoying but it also makes you feel that the company has
done little to understand you personally.
Opt-in marketing is particularly useful online. This way
customers can receive information directly to their home.
In a world where there is an excess of marketing, customers
can be understandably cold. The constant bombardment of
advertising can be frustrating and annoying. Direct
marketing in particular has been known to have the complete
opposite effect and actually to turn potential customers
away.
By allowing customers to choose whether or not they receive
information you are much more likely to get a warmer
reception. Be sure that you stay around to help your
customer after they have bought your product. This way they
will remain interested in your marketing and will become
repeat customers.
By allowing people the choice, you are automatically
gaining their trust as a non-pushy and pleasant company. It
is also extremely important that you have people available
to deal with after-sales issues. There is nothing more
frustrating than getting an email advertising a product
when you have been 'on hold' about the very same product
for the best part of an hour! Remember your customers are
your future.
